SPAYING AND NEUTERING IS SO IMPORTANT!

A staggering number of pets are euthanized every year. Listed below are two main reasons and what we can do about it

Lost  dogs and cats unable to find their owner

Overpopulation due to too many unwanted puppies and kittens

How staggering???? Over 30,000 dogs and cats in Broward County and over 6 million in our country each year.

How can we help?

We can take RESPONSIBILILTY of our pets...

  how easy it is....

MICROCHIP YOUR DOG OR CAT

Pets can become lost very easily by a door being left open or your dog finding a hole in the fence. Once away from his natural surroundings, your pet can become easily disoriented and lost. Noise phobia from 4th of July, thunder storms and panic during hurricane season are other reasons for your dog to dart out of the house. Your dog can also be stolen from you yard in a matter of seconds. Statistics show that nearly one out of 5 dogs will be lost or stolen this year: Your pet does not need to be one of them! The Microchip works; it is permanent, completely unalterable and does not change or harm the appearance of the animal. The procedure is fast virtually painless and inexpensive!

SPAY AND NEUTER YOUR PET

For every kitten or puppy that finds a happy home, four others are unwanted, unloved and possibly neglected or abused. …..now become part of the solution!  Spaying and neutering your pet not only helps reduce the number of unwanted pets, it provides long-term health benefits to your dog or cat.

Why it’s Good for You and Good for your Pet

Spayed and neutered pets are better, more affectionate, companions

Neutered cats are less likely to spray and mark territory.

Spaying a dog or cat eliminates her heat cycle. Estrus lasts an average of six to 12 days, often twice a year, in dogs and an average of six to seven days, three or more times a year, in cats.

Females in heat often cry incessantly, show nervous behavior, and attract unwanted male animals.

Spayed and neutered pets are less likely to bite. Unaltered animals often exhibit more behavior and temperament problems than those that have been spayed or neutered.

Spayed and neutered dogs and cats live longer, healthier lives.

Spaying female dogs and cats eliminates the possibility of uterine or ovarian disease and greatly reduces the incidence of breast cancer.

Neutering male dogs and cats reduces the incidence of prostate disease. Neutered animals are less likely to roam and fight.
